I started "doing business as" Code Scientists in 2015 and organized as an LLC in February 2016. I was transitioning from a short stent at a startup and two decades of working for commercial software companies. As the startup was shutting down, and I was trying to figure out what to do next, a few local consulting companies asked for help with a handful of difficult-to-solve problems. After I solved those issues, more work started showing up, so I decided to go for it and start my own consulting company.
My first major client was a company called LifeWatch. LifeWatch created mobile heart monitoring solutions. They hired me to write web applications for viewing ECGs and arrhythmia reports. Shortly thereafter, they started asking me for more resources. When I asked around, I found a great fellow programmer and business partner, and that's when Code Scientists, LLC went official. LifeWatch was eventually sold to BioTelemetry and BioTelemetry to Philips. Nine years later, we have worked on some amazing products, from web apps to mobile apps to firmware for embedded devices, sophisticated document processing algorithms, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
While our team has a wide variety of technical skills and can build solutions in many languages and on many platforms, our true specialties are product development and problem solving. These specialties are backed up by my 30 years of commercial software development, my partner's 20 years, and our hardworking team members.
